The lowdown on Lowbrow

Congrats on jumping in! Lowbrow North is a one-night show where local artists turn skateboard decks into wall-worthy art — a little grease, a little grit, no rules about what “fine art” is supposed to look like. This page has everything you need to know between now and show night, broken into short sections so you can skim it once and forget about it until a deadline rolls around.

Registering

We've tried to make registration easy:

  • Registration deadline: November 1, 2026.

  • Register early — get your deck and maximize your time to customize it!

  • Once your registration and payment are complete, we'll email you an artist survey — that's how we gather what we need for the event publication, so keep an eye on your inbox.

(This is the same form that's on the homepage - no need to fill it out twice.)

What's included

Your $75 entry fee covers everything you need to get started — no hidden costs, no surprises:

  • One blank deck — yours to prep, paint, carve, or otherwise transform.

  • One Lowbrow North artist t-shirt — artists only, so wear it with pride.

  • A feature in the event publication — your work and your name, in print.

Board pick-up / shipping / drop-off:

Boards are available for local pickup and dropoff only (Perth County Moto or in Ayr). Artists who need boards shipped must contact us for additional shipping and handling information.

All registration sales are final and non-refundable.

After submitting your registration keep an eye on your inbox for a follow-up email containing your Artist Information Pak. It contains your Artist Information Form, which must be completed to finalize your registration for the First Annual Lowbrow North.

Making your deck

A few ground rules, then it's your canvas:

  • Any medium is fair game — paint, wrap, carve, stencil, whatever gets your vision onto the deck.

  • Artwork goes on the bottom — the non-coloured side of the deck.

  • It's a lowbrow show, not a censored one — but it's also all-ages. Keep subject matter appropriate, and if nudity is part of your piece, keep it tasteful.

Selling your deck

Your art, your price, your sale.

  • You set the price. Lowbrow North doesn't set it, cap it, or negotiate it for you.

  • You keep 100% of the sale. Neither Lowbrow North nor Perth County Moto takes a cut.

  • We connect interested buyers with you at the show — you handle the sale directly.

  • Sold a deck? The buyer can pick it up on November 15, 2026.

Drop-off info

All decks need to be delivered to the Lowbrow North team by November 12, 2026. We need the time before the show to set up the show :)

Got stickers? We're putting together a loot bag for attendees. If you'd like to contribute, bring them along to drop off.

Drop-off locations
  • Perth County Moto, Stratford — during regular business hours (check the current hours on the Perth County Moto website).

  • Ayr — by arrangement.

  • Need to drop off outside PCM's hours, or somewhere other than Stratford or Ayr? Message us to arrange it — see Questions? section below.

Show night

Doors open at 6pm on November 14, 2026 at Perth County Moto in Stratford, Ontario. Admission is free, and every artist is welcome — but your attendance isn't required. If you can make it, come see your deck on the wall, meet the other artists, and enjoy the night. If you can't, we've got it covered.
